Shanda Powell

Shanda Powell is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a mother of 2 adult children and one teenager. Shanda is a member of a local Urban Church Ministry in her community. Shanda obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University and her Master’s Degree in Ministry Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary at Cornerstone University. She has a career in Child Services under the State of Michigan, where she is a Family Engagement Specialist. Before her experience in child services, she spent several years as a childcare worker for the Grand Rapids Public Schools in the Autism Program.

Shanda’s advocacy for young people is a gift. Shanda believes that pouring into young people's lives is an expression of being the village our youth need. "
